Apple has finally brought the special camera mode available to many Android devices to iOS 13 and iPadOS for years. It has been a feature that has been supported on Macs for some time. So what is the multi-camera support that is included in the conference in detail and why is it so important?
Multi-camera support, or orijinal Multi-Camera Capture, orijinal will be available only on newer devices such as the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and the latest iPad Pro (when the iPadOS operating system is installed).
There are also certain combinations that you can perform on Apple devices using this function. You can use the normal and telephoto camera on the back of the iPhone or the normal rear camera and selfie camera at the same time. There are even combinations that allow you to use the TrueDepth selfie camera.
Multi-camera allows you to capture photos, videos and audio from multiple cameras at the same time. When this feature is turned on, which video resolutions will be valid, what kind of high resolution photos can be taken, and how many FPS per second will be supported were shared in detail at the conference.
Whether or not the overlap function will be displayed in the recorded images is shown in the presentations under the heading “Binned”.
Apple will launch the multi-camera API as part of iOS 13 to enable developers to add this multi-camera feature to their applications. If you’re interested, stay tuned to Apple’s website.
